You can also choose your own date for your own group or for a private expedition. The price stays the same.
When planning your trip, it's important that your flight aligns with the expedition dates. Always maintain a travel duration of 11 days: arrival on day 1, departure on day 11.

🌕 Why do these expeditions (except for the New Year's trip) coincide with the full moon?
The main reason is the "summit night": the final stage to the summit begins around midnight. When the moon is full, the route is illuminated by bright, natural light, which makes climbing safer and more enjoyable because you are less dependent on your headlamp. In addition, the glaciers and snow-covered summit magically reflect the moonlight. This creates a breathtaking view above the clouds that you cannot experience so intensely at any other time.
The dates above are for fixed group tours. Would you prefer to depart at a different time? That's possible too! The price remains the same, regardless of whether you travel with a fixed group or on your own schedule.

In Tanzania it's customary to give a collective tip to the mountain team as recognition for their hard work. The tips are collected at the end of the expedition and handed over to the head guide. Budget approximately 15% of the expedition price.
You must arrange good travel and medical insurance yourself with coverage for mountain sports, emergency assistance and repatriation.
For Tanzania you need a valid passport and a visa.
A visa is available on arrival (Visa on Arrival: US$50 for most passport holders)
or in advance online as eVisa. The visa is valid for 90 days from entry.
